3 CD-Box compilation released in March 2009.

This work is the definitive retrospective to my early years (1994-2003 period), characterized mainly by the solo piano, the minimalism, the romanticism and the experimentation. During almost four hours it collects all the released works from 2000-2003, as well as a lot of unreleased pieces (more than 20 tracks!) from that 1994-2003 period.

When in 2008 I was working for Cautiva's album «Human», I returned to my old archive recordings and I was amazed by the amount of unreleased stuff there. I forgot for a time my early stuff and all these recordings and projects -many of them unfinished-, so I thought it would be a good idea to do something special and release the most of all this in some way. This work was the result.

All the tracks were remastered/mixed during autumn of 2008 and winter of 2009.

Tracks #5, #31 and #40 taken from «Ensayos sobre Música Esporádica» (EP, 2000).

Tracks #14 and #33 taken from «Lluvia de Mayo» (CD-S, 2000).

Tracks #6, #7, #8, #19, #20, #21 and #37 taken from «Música para una Guitarra sin Voz» (EP, 2001).

Tracks #12, #27 and #35 taken from «Tres Piezas para Oídos Distintos» (EP, 2002).

Tracks #2, #3, #15, #16, #29 and #38 taken from «De Luces y de Sombras» (LP, 2003).

All the rest of the music is previously unreleased.

--------------------

Tracks #6, #8, #19, #21 and #37 co-written with José L. Cabeza for the Hypnotica project.

Track #17 based on a theme of Rimsky-Korsakow.

Track #31 is a Philip Glass cover.

Track #11 written originally by Felix Mendelssohn.

Track #32 written originally by Ludwig van Beethoven.

Track #39 written originally by Erik Satie.

--------------------

Moreover, it's interesting to know that:

Tracks #1, #29 (partially and instrumented) and #34 were expected to be part of a major work in several movements and with singers, never finished.

Tracks #4 and #14 (a previous version) were expected to be part of a major work in four movements, never finished.

Track #9 was my first finished composition, except for very short pieces (less than 1 minute).

Tracks #10 and #42 were partially composed in 2008 for this release.

Track #18 is a simple study inspired by Mozart’s first piano bagatellas.

Tracks #22, #23, #24, #25 and #26 complete a major work. All the music is written taking the main motive of Philip Glass's «Music In Similar Motion» (2 seconds of music) and making a "sporadic and minimalist" development of more than 23 minutes based on the structure, the mathematical logic, the geometry and the timbre of the different instruments. It's a very crazy composition, but I love it.

Track #28 was expected to be part of a major work in three movements, never finished. Only the first movement was partially written.

Track #36 was part of a long study when I was interested in the "reflected music", concept previous to the "sporadic music" and that I finally abandoned. In the "reflected music" the fingers of the left hand and the right hand pressing the keys at the same time, like a mirror reflection.

Track #41 can be considered my first ambient/electronic recording.

Track #42 was used as introduction for Cautiva's album «Human» (2009).

Works

«Works» is a text which collects comprehensive information about all my releases and compositions, including lengths, when it was composed or recorded a track, connections with other pieces, anecdotes, histories behind the music and much more stuff.

«Works» is regularly updated from time to time and you can download it from these links:

-WORKS, Part 1: about pieces.

-WORKS, Part 2: about releases.

The first part collects information about all the compositions, including the unreleased ones, being the most exhaustive and interesting part of all the content. The second part gives information about all the ordinary releases (LPs, EPs, Singles, Compilations, etc.).

If you are interested in knowing more about any release or piece, «Works» is a great source of information!
